The HSBC National Center for Economic and Financial Education
An initiative of the National Council on Economic Education

The National Council on Economic Education (NCEE) is pleased to announce the formation and development of the new HSBC National Center for Economic and Financial Education.

Underwritten by a generous grant from HSBC-North America, the new HSBC National Center for Economic and Financial Education will magnify NCEE’s cause by promoting the importance of K-12 economic, financial, and entrepreneurship education in the United States and internationally. The Center will also showcase NCEE instructional materials, teacher-training programs, and state-of-the-art approaches to K-12 economic, personal finance, and entrepreneurship education. The Center will serve as a visible and accessible launch site for new NCEE programs where educators, business and foundation representatives, policymakers, and the media can observe economic, personal finance, and entrepreneurship education in action.

The HSBC National Center for Economic and Financial Education will provide an excellent opportunity and venue to strengthen and expand NCEE’s program activities in New York City and the surrounding region. The Center will have a formal opening event later in 2008 at a midtown Manhattan location to be announced. However, professional development opportunities are already being offered. This summer, the Center will offer these workshops and events to New York area teachers:
